Experiences

Mindfulness and wellbeing in everything we do, including in a corporate environment, have become extremely important.  As humans we tend to enjoy the familiar. Both our brains and our minds like to go down well trodden paths. These three very different days are spent exploring new paths, challenging our perceptions, our understanding of the world around us and our vision of how we fit in.

It is a day of discussion, quiet reflection and peaceful exploration with no competitive activity, no judgement of performance and no surges of adrenalin - but a lot of fun and laughs too! All course materials and equipment are provided. Participants should wear or bring with them clothing and footwear for walking outdoors. Nothing more than an average level of fitness is required and it would be possible to complete the day from a wheelchair.

Each day begins with coffee and cake and an introduction to the day, the morning will be spent doing a variety of exercises in mindful appreciation both sitting round a table and out in the natural world. There will be a 3 – 5 course lunch (depending on the experience chosen) with wine, followed by more exercises in the afternoon , afternoon tea and a summing up.  Dietary restrictions can be accommodated, and the day can be alcohol free if preferred.

All our experiences be customised to what you or your group would like to do but as a guide we offer three very different ways in which to explore these ideas:

  1. Through the senses -

A day spent looking at how our senses influence the way we look at the world.  We explore sight, sound, touch, taste and smell and the invisible sixth sense….

This day centres around a 5 course lunch cooked by our in house chef (Ror’s Kitchen)and  a tasting of wines and cheese given by Duncan Menzies, (Maitre Emerite of the Commanderie de Bordeaux, erstwhile director of Ptarmigan Wines, founder of the Scottish Wine society, and coincidentally my husband!).

  2. Through the elements -

This day is spent looking at the elements of air, water, earth and fire and how these elements interact and how they are a part of everything in our universe.

We will travel to local areas to experience different elemental energies and also explore those energies around Leaston.  We will have a delicious fire cooked lunch (again cooked by Ror’s Kitchen), coffee/hot drinks on arrival and afternoon tea.

  3. Through the energies and intelligences of the natural world -

This day is spent exploring the myriad of intelligences and energies that surround us in our universe in a more mystical way.  We look at our solar system, the animal world, plants and trees and how these energies communicate amongst themselves, and how we can extend our understanding to communicate with them. As with the other days there will be coffee on arrival, a delicious lunch and afternoon tea all cooked by Ror’s kitchen.

All experiences are totally bespoke for private or corporate groups ofup to 10 people. They are all very different and good fun. Collection from Edinburgh and all transport during the day can be provided.   Coffee, lunch and tea is included and provided by our in house chef (rorskitchen.co.uk), as is all wine and other refreshments. If you are even remotely intrigued please get in touch for a chat.
