Welcome to Leaston, a magical rural idyll in the foothills of the Lammermuirs
just 20 miles south of Edinburgh.
Leaston is the perfect venue for a wild wedding in the hills of East Lothian. Off the beaten track, but less than an hour’s drive from Edinburgh and just a few minutes from the picturesque Humbie Kirk, our beautiful walled garden, wild gardens and grounds surrounding the house are perfect for those wanting something a bit different and a bit wild.
A 30 acre expanse of wildflower meadows, cultivated gardens, planted woodlands, and the Leaston flower garden, a flower farm and vegetable garden, which can both be used for your decoration and and menu. We also supply a small number of local florists with local and sustainable cut flowers.
We also grow a few things for the table at Leaston: Wensleydale Sheep for wool and mutton; Berkshire Pigs for bacon; the garden is packed with Rhubarb, soft fruits, apples and vegetables; the hedgerows and meadows around are perfect for foraging.
Leaston is a 16th Century lairds house, home to the Menzies family for almost 40 years. We have several small enterprises co-existing in the beautiful walled garden, wild gardens and grounds surrounding the house: breeding sheep for wool and mutton; growing cut flowers and vegetables for florists, chefs and individuals; and letting out the house, garden and grounds for weddings and events.
