Floristry
How things grow here
This is a garden, not a farm, and everything that grows in the garden at Leaston is mostly left to flourish of its own accord. There is a wonderful relationship between the energies of the different plants and I work in a spirit of co-creation with them. I may try to encourage them with many alternative and sustainable practices but I never use pesticides or herbicides. I do not use any floral foam or new plastic and only use recyclable or biodegradable containers and supports.
See below for what the garden and I can offer.
Bouquets for any occasion
I love to create bespoke arrangements to fit any event or occasion. Everything is hand-picked and made-to-order.
As an alternative to a delivered bouquet I also offer an opportunity for the recipient to come to the garden and wander round with one of us and see which flowers speak to them. We then either create the bouquet together or the recipient enjoys a cup of tea and a piece of cake while I do the arrangement. See here for more information on this.
Buckets of flowers for a DIY wedding
For brides who want to arrange their own flowers we provide buckets of mixed flowers and foliage, pre-conditioned and ready for arranging. Nature doesn’t always agree with very specific ideas on a colour palette so although we try to accommodate specific likes and dislikes, we compromise by offering either a pale/creamy/pastel/whiteish combination or a colourful one.
Funerals and end-of-life celebrations
I believe that flowers speak to us and I love creating end of life tributes. So often I discover that the flowers that I have felt drawn to when creating an end of life tribute turn out to have meant something very special to that person. I love that.
Foliage for event florists
I love creating a look that is effortlessly natural, and foliage is the key to that. I also supply foliage of all dimensions for event florists.
